Single-Use Event 2023's has been announced to be "compatibility".
2/5/23 - The theme for Single-Use Even 2023 has been announced. It will be a central topic that is relevant to anyone who works with single-use technology. Around this theme questions will be adressed that concern suppliers as well as users of the technique.
Once you have chosen to employ single-use technology, of course you want to be able to choose between components from different producers. However, at times it is not possible to connect single-use systems that weren’t fabricated by the same manufacturer. For example, producers of single-use bioreactors frequently provide their own connectors, which are not always compatible with systems developed by other producers.
The sensors in a single-use bioreactor are often already implemented at the start of the production process and are afterwards sterilized as a whole. So, what happens if you prefer to have another producer’s sensor? Is that even possible and will the other sensor fit? Or will you simple have to buy all single-use components from the same supplier to avoid problems such as these? Where are we at with the compatibility of single-use components from various sources? Questions like these will be addressed with this year’s theme: compatibility.
