Roger’s approach combines technical expertise with practical demonstrations, making advanced technology accessible and scalable for real-world applications.

Breaking Barriers: Simplifying the Transition to Single-Use Centrifugation

By now, the industry recognizes the advantages of single-use centrifugation: greater flexibility especially for highly intensified processes, shorter processing times, improved sustainability, smaller footprint, and lower costs. The next challenge is adoption. Introducing new technology often raises concerns about complexity, but in reality, the opposite is true.

This session will demonstrate how single-use disc stack centrifugation offers a wide operational window with the same equipment, how simple lab tests using existing tools can predict performance, and how compact, mobile systems make on-site trials easy. We will also explore true scalability, from single-use platforms to large-scale stainless steel, and increasingly the reverse of scaling down. Practical methods and real-world examples will show why simplicity and flexibility are key to mastering future bioprocessing.

Alfa Laval

Energy, Environment and Food

Alfa Laval is a global leader in separation technology, pioneering solutions that enhance efficiency, scalability, and sustainability in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. With the CultureOne™ platform, Alfa Laval introduced the first single-use disc stack separator designed for high-density cell cultures, delivering superior product recovery and reducing environmental impact. Our mission is to help the industry master the challenges of intensified processing while minimizing waste and resource consumption.
