Fabian Plaum is responsible for Sales Management of Freeze-Drying and Freeze-Thaw technologies at HOF Sonderanlagenbau GmbH. He began his career at HOF in 2014 while studying Mechanical Engineering, completing his Master of Engineering degree. During his time at HOF, Fabian gained experience across multiple departments, including Mechanical Engineering and Project Management. Since 2019, he has been part of the sales team, focusing on Freeze-Drying and Freeze-Thaw applications, where he combines technical expertise with customer-oriented solutions for biopharmaceutical processes.

From Bench to Bulk: Scalable Plate Freeze‑Thaw Technology

This presentation focuses on scaling freeze‑thaw processes from R&D to production. While freezing and thawing are often performed directly at production scale, the need for reliable and predictive scale‑down models is increasing. The new HOF LAB FTU addresses this gap by offering the same temperature range and cooling rates as large‑scale units. This enables realistic process development and smooth scale‑up, ensuring consistency in product quality and performance across scales. Attendees will gain insights into efficient, scalable process design using plate freeze‑thaw technology.
